Employment/Jobs - helping our members!

The company I work for in Sparks is looking to hire at least 2 people, maybe three.
 
Any one have leads on jobs? Im highly suspecting that I will no longer have a job after the 28th. I’ve worked in medical for about 10 years but I’m willing to take on ANY type of profession.

Yea it’s good for what it is, I am too but with dad duty’s an school I am making 13 right now an wife said that she would pay me the extra few dollars to stay home still. Plus I’m am on furlough so not sure if I could.
 
Just my opinion, but think about getting into an HVAC/R certification while looking for work or while working. There is a lot of room to grow and go into different trades. Even if you never do anything with it. It will get you in the door. The IBEW should be hiring in a few months http://www.earnwhileyoulearn.org if you can study up and pass the general requirements, it is a great career field. (If a trades is something anyone is interested in)

I had missed the last apprentice program with IBEW by a week or two last time they did hiring. Every time I’ve checked the site they still haven’t been open to new apprentices. You say maybe in a couple months?

Doubtful. No unions are taking in right now. Slow down is imminent and will be HARSH! Contracts are not being signed, money isn't flowing. Construction is winding down quickly. While we've stayed working, our work was already paid for so it's all delayed for construction. Another 6 months and it might be getting really ugly.

Thinking it's gonna be like 2009-12 or so, when all of the half finished construction projects just sat. and sat. and sat.

What is now Downtown Summerlin sat half finished for around 5 years, IIRC. They had already excavated huge areas and poured foundations, and there were several steel skeletons for structures in place. I thought it was always gonna stay that way, was relieved when they finished it several years ago (it's right by my house and was quite an eyesore.....).

BIKE SHOP HELP

I’m looking for a few people who would like to work in a bike shop in Summerlin, mainly to assemble bikes, change flats, perform light janitorial (empty garbage/break down boxes/etc), and assist with sales. Although previous bike shop or retail experience would be preferred, it’s not necessary - we’re looking for someone with a willingness to learn, the ability to follow instructions, exhibits great customer service skills, who can work on their own and has a good work ethic (ie. tardiness/absences are frowned upon and will not be tolerated).
