Same here, Over a decade no scammers. Couple losers that did some mind changing last minute. I thought i seen a scammer once but i was looking in the mirror.
I would prefer i did not have to give the 20 to post non firearms related sales. I refuse to buy or sell firearms now because of the bg check "law" bs. So the forced donation does not affect me except in that way. At the least please dont get rid of non firearms sales.
The forced donation seems pretty fair if the forum is hurting for money. It was a good free ride for awhile. Hopefully the bosses keep within the current confines and not take over so everyone has to pay to post, purchase or join.

Forced donation? Who is forcing anything? There are other options out there.
 
Many of the decent knife forums have charged a fee to sell for many years, this is a welcome change.

I helped admin a custom knife & gun forum years back, ( it was called CK&G) , and server space, hosting, bandwidth, software , etc gets pricey.
The amount of work admins and mods have to put up in would shock most of you. Thanks for giving us this cool little piece of the web to hang out.

It is a simple concept, if you want to use the sale area, pay $20 a year, if you don't, then sell elsewhere.
It doesn't change your ability to view and post in the rest of the forum, heck it doesn't even stop you from being able to buy from others.

100% agree. Not sure why some have such a hard time understanding this. Nothing is free.

You would be forced to make a donation in order to use the features. The bosses of the forum are forcing the users to pay 20$ in order to post a for sale ad.
Other options dont change that fact.
Like get a vax or lose your job, there are other jobs so...
 
It shouldn't be seen as a "donation," then. It's a payment for services rendered, and a pretty damn good value at that.

The payment page should be changed to remove the word "donation."

Its a service that costs money to maintain. So you expect everything to be provided to you for free all the time?

Yeah i like this one. The trading post was nice before my boycott because of the bg check "law". I remember before it was a rule to include pics of items for sale, we were beefing about that new rule too lol.

How are they forcing you? You decide, do you want to sell here ? If so, you pay. You are the one making the choice.

When you go out for dinner do you complain about being ' forced' to pay for your meal? Don't answer...lol.
Do you complain about being forced to pay your monthly cell phone bill? Car insurance ? Again,no need to answer.

Stop with the 'forced' bs. There is now a yearly fee associated with posting things for sale, comply or don't sell. Those are your two options.

I think it is a PERK of making a donation, like getting the warm, cuddly blanket when you DONATE to the Shriners for children. If a payment were required to use the entire forum, then it would not be a donation, it would be a fee for services rendered.

The forum is free to use, you get a bonus now in being able to use the Trading Post if you donate to the support of the cost of running the forum.

Maybe we should just permanently close the trading post, that would stop scammers, feedback issues, etc. all together.

An added bonus to getting rid of the trading post would be that the BATFE would not be able to use it to look for folks who are engaged in the business of buying and selling firearms for profit without possessing an FFL.


Just my personal opinions, not necessarily those of the human(s) who own the forum and are too cheap to give me that third AAA battery....

Dont you mean yearly donation lol. If you had comprehended my original statement, you would realize that im not selling, and as i stated it does not really affect me AND i also think that its a pretty reasonable fee.
When i go out to dinner its not called a contribution or donation, its called a bill. When .gov steals my money its called a tax.
Get yourself together and calm down. Big deal, i have a different opinion than you.
