I've been listening to that old cowboy country from the 1950's about "Big Irons" and I realized I don't have any, only DA Revolvers.

What I'm looking for:

Ruger Blackhawk (.357/.44/.45LC)

Repeater (.357/30-30/.45-70/.44)

For the repeaters I'm not really brand specific. I'm looking for more of a shooter and not a 2k safe-queen. I was thinking a later model Winchester/Marlin/Something Else.

I'm an FFL and a CCW holder so I could transfer it myself.

I live in Dayton NV

Linny, I'm keeping all of mine!

Just a heads up if you've not been following the saga of Marlin. In late 2007 bought by Remington (those guns referred to as "Remlins" were of questionable quality with common defects. Now that Ruger has bought the pieces and started production of the 1895 Guide Gun, things should be dramatically improving, though availability is istill well below demand.

Good luck on your quest! One of the last JM stamped Marlins:

Get your lever gun and revolver in the same caliber.
Great advice IF that one caliber convenience has primacy, and IF you prefer not to shoot a "monster" round revolver and intend to use the lever gun for bear protection. A .357 mag is great for a wheel gun and a 45-70 lever will drop about anything in N. America, but I shudder to think of shooting a 45-70 revolver. My son's 44 Casull was bad enough for this old man.
