Might be a long shot but if you have a 1 or 2 person tent in good shape under 5lbs that you want to sell please PM me. Have cash or trade items if you prefer that.

In Vegas - 215/Charleston area.
Thanks.

If you don’t get any offers I’m pretty sure Sportsman’s Warehouse stocks a couple of different 1-2 man tents / bivvies. Might be worth checking out

The garage sale is this Saturday at both REI locations, Boca Park and Green Valley. I've scored some really good deals there.

I was hoping to make that, but have to work on Saturday now. Damn job gets in the way of everything.

Just an aside - A 1 person backpacking tent is tight. You’ll fit in with your shoulders touching the edges and your backpack outside. The two person lightweight models get to the 4-5lb range and are much more versatile. Just food for thought.

Example — 2 person tent at sub 4lbs

It's nice to be able to keep some gear out of the rain..

Yeah I've been there. Even outside in a vesti things get wet and muddy if the weather isn't good. Tent technology and materials have come far enough that unless you are really counting every single ounce the difference between a 1 man tent and a 1.5 man or 2 man tent isn't worth the trade-offs IMHO.

If you don't need it real soon, try nellis auction, I have seen smaller tents there in the past. They usually have auctions that end just about every day, just make sure and read the descriptions for the condition.

I would love a BA tent but between shooting and reloading fun fun budget is stretched. Good point on a 2P or even a 1.5 which I had but wanted a freestanding one instead, maybe I should have kept it. This is just for a few overnighters up on Mt. Charleston

I actually had that Alps 1.5 and sold it. It wasn't freestanding so tacking it down in the rocky soil to make sure it stayed up was a pain. Guess I should have kept it but I had 5 or 6 tents at the time and was "asked" to downsize them.

I still have this one but it's a bit over 6 lbs. Might use this until I can find a deal on something lighter.
