Well ...just because

Yeah, but I wouldn't buy a car named after a female body part! :)

Speaking of which . . . is *anybody* buying new cars in this nutso market? Friend wanted to look a Ford Bronco. They had 2 on the lot. Dealer markup was $26K. Pay that and you reserve the vehicle but have to wait almost a year to pick it up and pay balance, as they want to keep it on the lot to show.
Or you can buy a MB AMG G63 for $295,000! $125k over msrp!

When a buddy of mine went shopping for a F150 Raptor, all the dealers in So. Cal had a dealer markup of 10K on them, but they were not being marked up in Phoenix, so for a 700 mile round trip, he saved 10K.

Yep, I've flown out of state a few times to pick up a new vehicle. And had one trailered in once. Save $5k-$10k for a road trip or a relative small fee to truck it in.

Also what I did for my Volvo. None in LV, several in So Cal. Played two dealers off one another to talk the price down 10k and had it trailered in to LV for me.

There are dealers that gladly sell for less than MSRP if you "build" the vehicle online and have it delivered....Then you go get it or have it shipped.

Don’t get me started. My computer at work now prompts for a pregnancy test when a male identifies as female…
Do you make them get an ultra sound? I'd pay to watch that.:ROFLMAO:

Okay so what even is it? Some kinda Audi but besides that?

They aren't reliable like Japanese, and even Korean cars, but they are definitely not junk, especially if you like to drive a performance automobile. If you want junk look at your typical base GM car.

I've owned a lot of cars, and to this day the nicest car that I've ever owned, and that I still miss, was an MB E63 AMG.
Cost of ownership was also probably the highest of any car I've ever owned, even when spreading it out over the 7 years that I owned it, but you wanna play, you gotta pay. (ETA: a large part of the cost was about $1000+ every year in tires alone, with 507HP and 465 ft lbs of torque, it shredded a pair of rear tires every 8-10 months, with front tires lasting maybe twice that (was still a heavy car that handled surprisingly well, so the fronts took a beating too).

To each his own.

I still have its predecessor: the venerable S55 AMG!
Just broke the 100k threshold!

FYI - In Germany the hottest selling "sports car" since 2016 has been the Ford Mustang. (I don't have the 2021-2 figures)

2016 - According to Germany’s Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (Federal Motor Transport Authority), 780 Mustangs were sold .... For some perspective, Germans bought 708 Audi TTs, 200 Porsche Caymans (plus 442 Boxsters), 40 Nissan 370Zs and 138 Jaguar F-Types over the same period...The Mustang even managed to best the Porsche 911, which sold 752 units.

2020 - Just last year, Ford managed to sell 102,090 Mustang units, making it the best-selling sports car in the world. This includes a 33 percent sales increase in Germany and Mustang sales nearly doubling in France.

Don't know about German pricing but it has always been a pretty good "bang for the buck" vehicle in the states.

Price matters! Wouldn't expect an E53 AMG to be high volume seller in ANY market. Saudi Arabia maybe? Mustang the best thing that ever happened to Ford.

Ford does a good job with their performance cars. I still miss these.

Niiiiiiiiiice.
MB AMG have a premium price tag but the materials and performance and even the sound of the motor is amazing (the exhausts are actually designed/tuned for sound not just emissions/performance). No fake wood trim there. My old AMG had a leather roof lining even.

Thanks. Exciting car to drive! Perfect for me. C class too small,S too big. The optional Driver Assistance package is a must.

Is that the one that was for sale on OfferUp for the past four months? It has a salvage title. The miles were super low, like 9,200 original miles, and the price was right, but a salvage title kills the deal.
I called on both AMG GT's that were on OfferUp.
The one I'm looking at is in Cali. Debating if its worth getting in this economy.
I really like the looks of the Jaguar F-Type but reliability is a concern.
What I would really like is a Rolls Coupe, but used and about 6-8 years old. Let the original owner take the depreciation beating for me.....
