I bought this gun specifically to play gunsmith with it, and now, I think I'm done with it. I have taken as far as I can go; only thing left might be things beyond my meager abilities, like porting or slide cuts. So figured it's time for someone who is looking to get into the 2011 game for cheap to actually get a beautiful shooter.
This MAC 9 DS has been upgraded with full EGW internals ($135 or so), the Staccato P grip ($150 second hand market), and a Staccato trigger (no idea; I just had an extra laying around). It has been polished pretty significantly. As it sits right now, it has a Swampfox Justice II in 6MOA (green) ($200), as well as a TLR-1S ($100). The magazines have Atlas IDPA baseplates ($22 each) added, but those can be put back to factory with factory baseplates. Currently has the 11lb Atlas recoil spring ($9), but I can put that back to factory as well.
The trigger is coming in right around 2lbs and super-crisp. The kind of trigger you buy a 1911/2011 to get and bears no resemblance to what this trigger feels like from the factory. This gun actually outshoots my Staccato, but maybe that just means my Staccato needs some lovin', don't know.
The gun has been 100% reliable for me across ~300 rounds fired both before the upgrades and after them.
So, if you want a entry-level 2011 that will do everything you need it to do, take a look at this Turkatto which has had most of the work you'd want done to it already done to it. I'm looking to recover just what I spent; my time, labor and taxes are included for you. Also included are all of the factory parts, including the factory grip which has HandleIt grip tape already applied.
Cash Price: $1578 -- let's call it $1,500. Don't want the optic or the light or the IDPA basepads? Take those off this price.
Trade Value: $1,600.
Holsters also available if you need one.
In terms of trade, I don't have anything in particular I'm looking for other than odds and ends... but a few things might be:
- SuperVel 9mm ammo -- 115s, 124s, 147s
- Steel challenge 10/22 build components (think triggers, chassis, lightweight barrels, receivers, etc.)
- Staccato P (4.4") -- I'll obviously add cash on my end
- Make an offer; worst I can say is no thanks.
Not likely to want any AR-related anything or any caliber other than 9mm.
Thanks for checking it out!
Buyer pays transfer. Ventura Firearms preferred.
