Updated Trading Post Rules for 2026

A nice addition would be a rule to " send all lowball offers via pm , and not in the ad post"
Not needed, since there is a rule that states all offers, anything other than an "I'll Take it" or "I'll take it pending inspection" are to be sent via a PM, not posted in the ad.
This also includes NOT posting the message "PM sent" no need for that, just send the PM!

READ THIS! RESPONDING TO ADS IN THE TRADING POST! | Nevada Shooters
Where it says:

Questions, comments, or offers of trades should be made via a PM sent to the ad OP, not posted in the ad as a reply.

Many of these "offers of trades" are now actually ads themselves, without a price or a picture, if posted in the OPs ad, which violates trading post rules, and are also often made by folks who do not have trading post privileges, another violation of the rules, so send them via a PM.

Many are also "free bumps" by buddies that help the ad OP get around the 24-hour bump rule and keep the ad at the top of the list in that section.

The only things folks should be posting as replies to someone else's ad are "I'll Take it" or "I'll take it Pending inspection" or "2nds if the deal falls through" or "3rds if the deal falls through". Nothing else, including "PM sent".

Price drops, items being added, additional information of any kind, anything the OP adds to the ad should be place in the first post of the ad via the edit button so that folks don't have to search through the ad to find it, and also to possibly avoid the information update being an early bump, one less than 24 hours after the last post in the ad, no matter who made that post.

Maybe all those 32 sticky posts nobody reads should be consolidated into one with all the rules needing followed .... But they still wouldn't read them.

Thats why I added it to the original Rules post instead of creating another.

But yes, one day I'll fix all of that... 😆

Never understood selling for a friend. Those guys would always want you to goto the FFL for transfer. But I have my doubts that the gun was transferred at a FFL to the friend to be sold (which would need to happen because item should be in sellers possession right?).

Good rule change.

I know someone on here personally that does the PM sent thing. I can only speculate i believe they do it because they think it kinda reserves the item for them, which it doesnt. But since no one reads the rules, i think most people assume it actually does reserve it in some sense, so it kinda works?

Im not a fan tho, since it doesnt reserve it, there is just a level of confusion and items my not sell, or the seller might see less offers if there is a comment on it trying to reserve the item. Lastly, lets say the person doesnt go through with it, which is very common. Now it leaves people speculating whats wrong with the item, why didnt the sale go through.

Just my 2 cents.

We should ban the PM sent like they do on Gunboards lol

And remember we don't allow the sale of illegal items, and for the time being, per the Nevada State Attorney General, that includes Forced Reset Triggers (FRT's).
