Summerlin VHF/UHF Scanner frequencies

I picked up an old Radio Shack programmable scanner. I know most stuff has gone to 800 mhz trunked and encrypted, but does anyone know of any good vhf/uhf analog frequencies still used for EMS/Fire/LE, businesses, venues, GMRS, HAM, etc that would be interesting to listen to?

I have 8 channels to program. so fire I programmed some of the Red Rock Canyon admin/fire/le channels and 2 of the GMRS repeater frequencies that have been mentioned in the forum.

Can anyone point me to a crash course on how to interpret these tables to set my HT up to listen? I’m on a Yaesu FT-4X.

If my OEM-duck can't pick them up, I have a super-duck antenna arriving later in March... let’s say I want to pick up those frequencies.

I think the info in the Tone column will affect proper reception but I’m not sure what those notations mean.

Those are digital radio settings. CC means color code, SL means slot & TG is talk group.

Your Yaesu is analog. It can do CTCSS & DCS tones only. Digital transmissions sound like this on an analog radio: youtube

Your current rubber duck will pick them up just fine, so will the new super duck. The problem is , those are DIGITAL frequency users, DMR, and your FT4XR is only set up for ANALOG reception.
You can program in those frequencies one by one, by going to the VFO mode and then punching in the frequency, then storing it in a memory bank slot.
But as I said, you are not going to hear audio traffic, as they are transmitting in a Digital Mode.

Yup, DMR stands for Digital Mobile Radio , so if anything says DMR after the frequency, you need the appropriate radio to hear it, one that does digital and recieves that frequency range.
