Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge. 30" vent rib barrel and a 25" vent rib barrel with three chokes $525 Firm. Brand new these go for a lot more with no chokes or extra barrel. Priced to sell.

You guys on the fence about a shotgun this is what I would buy. Old school Remington shotguns or rifles are GTG. Look at this compared to a new 870 today.

Better slimline wood & steel. The steel is twice as thick today but not any stronger. The pistol grip area on the new ones look like a 2x3 with no attention to detail.

I am sure NYECOGunsmith can attest to the quality of these older Remingtons.

Since I have been around a few years longer than the 870, and (before the yacht accident) owned several Wingmasters in each gauge and bore, and have worked on a few here and there, yup, they are a great shotgun.

Two I had went through 750,000 rounds each , one at trap (TC Grade with Grade 8 wood) , the other at skeet (SC grade also with grade 8 wood ) in the late 50-s through the early 90's before I switched to an over/under. One broke a firing pin in all those rounds, the other broke (almost unheard of!) and extractor.

I put all new springs in each of them every 10,000 rounds, kept them cleaned and properly lubed, and they just ran.
The actions are still as smooth as glass, with no slop. Well, smooth once you clean off the encrusted lava from where the yacht sank over the newly formed volcano at the bottom of the Marianna's trench that is!

To my knowledge it is.

This is not a safe queen. One of the best shotguns to enjoy for whatever type of shooting/ hunting you can imagine. Older Wingmasters are beautiful.

The 30" barrel is a fixed, full choke , correct?
 
My back-up trap gun is the same era Remington Wingmaster with the 30" fixed full choke. This is a very good deal on a great shotgun. If I didn't look twice as cool shooting my Winchester 1897, I'd shoot the Wingmaster first.
