$1,195 SOLD!!!!
Located in Golconda, Nevada, about 15 miles east of Winnemucca, and only a mile off of Interstate 80
I get to Reno occasionally, and may be able to meet a buyer there.
I am the original owner of this caliber-converted M1 carbine.
I bought a used barreled action at a gun show in 1994, and sent it to Tim LeGendre at LeMag in Fenton, Michigan to have the conversion to .45 Winchester Magnum performed.
The barreled action is "G.I.", made by the Inland Division of General Motors during World War II.
I've only fired about 200 rounds through it since then, and it's been reliable.
All rounds fired were my handloads with WW296 powder and 185 and 250 grain jacketed hollow-point bullets.
Muzzle energy is about 1,600 foot-pounds.
It comes with one magazine, originally meant to hold 15 rounds of .30 Carbine ammo, but which will now hold (I think) six rounds of .45 Winchester Magnum.
This magazine was converted to work with .45WM by LeMag, at the time of conversion.
Additional mags could be converted to work with this carbine with minor modification.
The new parts added by LeMag were parkerized by them.
The original parts of the gun have just what finish was remaining when I bought the action.
The stock and handguard are plastic, made by "Ram-Line".
I modified the barrel band retention spring to function with the heavier recoil that this cartridge causes, compared to the original .30 Carbine.
The carbine weighs a little under 5 pounds, as I recall.
Recoil is "sprightly" but not abusive.
All Nevada and Federal firearms transfer laws apply.
