Is this cross-listed on Armslist, and you are just linking your photo from there?
 
It’s not cross listed I listed it there first decided to list here instead and used my photo from there
 
POSITIVE I physically took the gun out of my safe and laid it on my table and took the picture personally so yeah it’s my gun and it’s my picture but thanks for YOUR concern.

Cross-listing usually refers to multiple postings on the same site, not advertising on unrelated sites. Not a useful exchange, but then again my comment is not needed either.
 
Just for the record, had I or one of the other Mods or Admins come across this ad prior to the OP answering Mac's question, I or we would have asked the same question, as seeing that ARMSLIST.com in the lower left corner of the photo raises the question as to whether or not this is a photo of the actual item for sale, in possession of person posting the ad.

It wouldn't be the first time that someone used a photo they copied off of ARMSLIST or somewhere else on the internet to show an image of the item for sale that was NOT the item actually in their possession and being offered for sale.

We have had a number of complaints after folks here offered to buy something, then when they got to the exchange site, the actual item was not the one from the internet/file photo / stock photo picture, and not in the condition represented by the photo, thereby wasting their time.

THAT's why the forum trading post rules state that you must supply pictures of the actual item you own and are offering for sale.

Mac's question was a perfectly valid one, and I can assure all of you, he is NOT A TROLL.
He was , as he often is, looking out for the best interests of this forum and it's members.

Lastly, I am curious as to how some folks here know that Mac is not even remotely interested in buying the offered item? If you are clairvoyant, I would like to introduce you to my former employers at the NSA, they would love to have that skill set in their bag of tricks.

My comment wasn't regarding MAC's post. I've been here long enough to know why MAC asked if it was cross listed. I've dealt with both the OP and MAC and I think they both know what my post was about.

I asked what I asked not because I was trying to imply that the OP is shady or otherwise trying to pull something (his feedback obviously proves otherwise) , but merely because his explanation made no sense to me. If he took the photo, he'd have the original photo to upload. In order to upload the armlist-watermarked image, he'd have to have listed it for sale on armslist first (despite saying it was not crosslisted there), uploaded that photo, then saved it from his armslist posting for some reason, then uploaded that photo here for some reason, as opposed to his original, which he'd already have. That simply does not make sense to me. It makes much more sense that he simply borrowed someone else's photo of an otherwise identical gun, feeling that in practice it won't matter because he owns the same exact gun. In practice he'd be right if they are in fact identical, but the rules are the rules, and this is one rule I happen to agree with, for the reasons NYECO mentioned.

Maybe I was out of line for my post. If so, I'll keep my mouth shut. But I didn't and still don't understand why someone would go through at least two extra steps to upload that photo, rather than upload the original they already have. The simpler explanation makes much more sense. But that's fine, if that is in fact his photo, he is of course free to do that, and I'll butt out of it.
