Small engine problem

I had bad gas in my generator, so emptied the fuel tank, flushed line from there through carburetor bowl. There is fuel flow through bowl via the drain. I did remove the carb and cleaned the float and needle, and also cleared the tube, dont know what its called, from the bowl to the carb. Can’t keep it running. If I spray the carb it will run, but otherwise no. Generator probably doesnt have more than 25 hours, but is 4 years old or so…ideas ?

Try to run some Seafoam through it. It is good at breaking down the lacquer.

Take it all apart, using wire or even better a MIG welding tip cleaner and make certain all passages are clear. Spray alone doesn't always clear everything.

Also, did you check your float setting? Very easy to throw that off if you're not careful.

X2 on Seafoam. You may have to take the carb apart and let it soak overnight in some Berrymans carb cleaner. Then rinse it off with water and then use some compressed air to blow out the passage ways. If you don’t have a compressor a can or two of dust air works.
