A few days ago I purchased an "osha hazardous chemicals storage box" from a new member of NVS for $140 and, because of my repeated positive experiences buying and selling here I mistakenly assumed the seller would fully disclose the condition of the item during the course of our discussion about it without me having to ask about every part of the item. Unfortunately it was NOT what I had expected but because I had already committed to purchasing I didn't feel it fair or appropriate to renege on the deal.

That being said, it is not going to work for what I wanted it for so I am putting this up for anyone that wants it and fully disclosing the actual condition of it.
The manufacturers description of the item can be found here: https://scimatco.com/collections/acid-corrosive-cabinets/products/sc8082 please take the time to click on the link and see what it actually is before moving forward.

Here is what I know:
  • There is damage to each of the front corners of the cabinet. It doesn't seem to make any difference to the ability to open and close the doors at all because of the design.
  • There are some pretty heavy duty scratches and a small gouge on the exterior; again, nothing that affects the performance but something to take into consideration.
  • One of the 4 sliding ”feet” is broken off not sure how this happened, it may have been partially damaged along with the other damage that occurred before I obtained it but I cannot say for sure; I have taken extra care to prevent scratches and damage to the item since obtaining it. The “foot” will be placed in the bag of parts/instructions that were included.
  • The sellers claim that the item has never been used seems to be accurate because the interior is pristine and even has the bag with the parts / parts list / instructions in it.
With relatively minimal effort someone could make this whole again, but it will work just fine as is: it’s just not pretty and not what I need for my use. I imagine this would be ideal for the small business owner that is required to meet osha requirements but doesn’t want to spend a crap ton of $$$ to do it.

I am located in Centennial Hills and will accept whatever you think is fair for this, no haggling necessary; I expect to take a huge loss on it because I did not do due diligence and ask about the condition of every portion of the item before committing to purchase. This was one of those expensive lessons learned for me.
I want my garage space back ASAP so if there isn’t interest before I get fed up with it, it will be donated to Deseret Industries.

Looks like 30"W X 32 1/2"H X 18 1/2"D according to the link.

Considering the asking “price” is literally anything someone is willing to offer vs what this thing costs new (can’t imagine why anyone would pay that), I am hoping this thing is gone soon.

Bonez, it's sad that someone would do that. Most people would walk away from the deal. Your personal character, however, shined through when you decided not to renege on the deal. I've had the good fortune of dealing with you and I give you a "+++" feedback on your personal character!!!

I would use it to store ammo...
If I had the space, or the ammo to put in it. (sigh)

Just curious, what were you planing to use it for ?
Ammo and other misc related items.

On that note - It’s still available for whatever anyone wants to offer: cash, ammo, knife, smile & a thank you, etc. whatever you want to offer & it’s yours.
