S&W Model 52-1 38 Mid range, in original box with extras! Circa 1967. Designed for match competition. Shoots 38 sp. full wadcutter only. 5rd magazines. One of the most accurate and smoothest semis you will ever own. Excellent condition, complete with 2 mags, bushing wrench, papers, xtra grips and trigger shoe. $1275

Great guns, my Dad shot one for years in matches.
The wadcutter slug must be seated flush or just slightly below the case mouth for the the gun to feed properly.
No real crimp or a very, very slight taper crimp on the case mouth.
These days it's strictly a hand loading proposition, back in the day a couple of companies offered match ammo just for these.
With 2.5 grains of bullseye behind a 158 grain wadcutter seated flush, and locked in a Ransom rest, my Dad's cut a ragged hole for 10 rounds at 25 yards.
Great guns, and a great price on this one, nice score!

The Federal Gold Medal Match 148gr HBWC the best factory ammo EVER for this gun! S&B makes this ammo but not hot enough to cycle. As mentioned, 2.5 Bullseye was the most common choice for reloading. Never owned a more accurate semi!
