I’m looking to buy a Ruger SR-22 for my 7yr old daughter. Please let me know if you have one for sale and the price. Thank you.
 
If you cannot find one, take a look at the Ruger New Model Single Six revolver. That’s what I started my boys out with and it is easier to hold, easy to load, extremely accurate, forces deliberate shooting, and great to develop good habits. I would highly recommend it over a Ruger SR-22.
 
New Frontier had some cutie pahtooty pink .22-s in stock..
 
The SR-22 is a nice reliable pistol. They did a good job with the feeding geometry. Good luck in your search. It's biggest drawback is that the safety moves the opposite direction of typical frame-mounted safety levers, so can cause bad habits in manual of arms.

Thanks for the suggestion. She has small hands, is it a longer reach to the trigger?

Scott, we did quite a bit of research last year and found that FAS 6004 Standard by Chiappa Firearms, a .177 pellot pistol with ambig grip was best choice for the money. We picked one up for $368 from Airguns of Arizona. My son is using it for Olympic training.

I appreciate your feedback, do you have a different pistol to recommend? I liked the interchangeable blackstraps of the Ruger to help fit her smaller hands better but am open to suggestions. Thanks

You will get more life out of a Ruger Mark IV target pistol. The pistol line has been around for 50+ years. There are great in every respect, the Mark IV fixed the disassembly problem of earlier versions. You can get these for around the same price as SR22 and you get many times more gun. If you get a Mark III, you'll want a Majestic kit to fix the disassembly problem. And I'd recommend not getting a 22/45 version as that is only for 1911 fanatics and not a good grip from smaller hands, among other issues.

Go for the Mark IV. And skip the light-weight versions, you want the normal target weight. Plenty of these available new and used.

Our favorites are the M&P 15-22, Ruger Mark III Target with Majestic kit, Ruger New Model Single Six, Ruger 10/22 with Volquartsen trigger kit, and CZ 455 Ultra Lux. We shoot for sport and competition, my boys started at 7. Started on iron sights, now use mix of them, red dots, and magnified optics for longer distances.

Big Daddy Unlimited... They require a membership, are hit or miss on current inventory like everyone else but have decent pricing.
