Remington 30 Express chambered in .30-06. Very good condition, especially given its age; my research indicates most likely build date circa October 1936. Rifle is equipped with a period correct Compac 4X scope in Weaver mounts. (I should sell the scope separately as I keep seeing it called the "Greedo Killer" scope - apparently a version of the Compac scope was used on the blaster that Han Solo nailed Greedo with in Star Wars. - :)) Receiver is tapped at the rear for a Lyman peep sight at the factory but there is no indication that one was ever mounted. Sight mount holes have filler screws installed. My research indicates that by 1936, Remington 30 Express rifles were not equipped with peep sights from the factory. Standard iron sights are mounted on the barrel as shown in photos.

Overall, this appears to be an unmolested example of the Remington 30 Express rifle. For those unfamiliar with this model, it is a result of Remington having stocks of leftover Enfield parts after the end of World War One. Having decided to use up those parts, Remington manufactured receivers and built the Model 30. This is NOT a sporterized 1917 Enfield.

I have not fired this rifle and have no information as to round count. I'm left handed and right handed bolt action rifles just don't work for me.

A similar example (without scope) closed on Gunbroker recently for $756. There aren't any direct comps available so I'm asking $600 for this one, will consider reasonable offers. Not primarily interested in trades, trying to thin the herd but you can always ask - worst case I'll politely decline.

Prefer not to ship at this time. Prefer to conduct business in Douglas County; we can discuss details. CCW holders preferred.
