Rare opportunity to purchase one of the couple hundred Colt lower receivers that can legally be assembled into a pistol. This is one of the desirable Colt Brownells Spares lowers released in a small batch several years ago. Out of many thousands of Colt ARs these Spares are classified differently and should appeal to any Colt Collector. One time deal only ever released 2018-19 a couple hundred ever! The Colt OEM 1&2 are classified as rifles and can never legally be a pistol-even if your dealer sold it as other-only the “Spares” can be a pistol. Separated lower receivers that are Colt are also never allowed to become pistols legally. Only the “Spares” transferred also as “other”- and only if it’s first assembled as a pistol are you able to go back and forth from pistol to rifle unlike any Colt rifle lower which cannot ever legally become a pistol. This lower presents a rare opportunity to have an all Colt made Pistol! And you can turn it into a rifle easily whenever needed-just don’t put the stock on until the short upper is removed. I only used this lower once without the stock with a short bbl. Test fired only and it is now forever legal as a pistol. Then this pistol was simply converted into a rifle by removing the short bbl. upper sliding on the stock and using a 16” or longer bbl. upper receiver! Many have used these to create a more realistic MK 18 as the military built ones are mostly on Colt lowers. If you travel to a state that won’t let you have a loaded rifle in car - slide off the stock you now have pistol that can be loaded and concealed! As a pistol without the sliding stock on it any bbl. length is ok. These few pistol eligible lowers have been sold on Gunbroker easily sell for over 1k and are impossible to find anymore. My sell price is $ 850 a bargain for you. And an opportunity to have one of the very few all Colt M4 Pistols! No trades on this/cash payment and buyer pays transfer. Must be at least 21 in order to purchase as transfer dealer will list as “other”. Better hurry on this Colt you may probably never get another chance at one! Be sure to read post 32 on page two of this post for further info.

This rare Colt “spares” lower is perfect in fit and finish as well. Tight on my Colt uppers and no flaws. Do not hesitate! It will go fast if I post it nationally(for an even higher price). I’ll wait just a bit to do so to give locals the opportunity to have one!

This Colt pistol lower will also let you build a realistic MK 18 Clone, as most of the actual Military Issue ones have Colt made lowers.

Colt has only done the limited run of Spares and a handful of Commando ones. One time deal pretty much. All the thousands and thousands of other Colts are rifles and can never become a pistol legally. As far as the non-Colts go sure most can if assembled first as a pistol. If it’s first assembled as a rifle it can never legally become a pistol no matter what brand. Disassemble a rifle and sell the receiver sure thing but illegal as a pistol if first ever assembled as rifle beware!

I’m gonna have to do some research because I was told any lower receiver sold without upper attached could be classified as either until it has a corresponding upper attached. I have a arms unlimited colt lower I was told by them I could do the same thing to.

Probably one of the run of Spares if you don’t have the box to prove it better call Colt to verify its status. The Brownells spares are verified. If yours is a rifle take off illegal as pistol for sure.

This is what I was told when I bought it that because I’m buying a virgin receiver that has never had a rifle upper attached or been sold as a rifle that was transferred to me at ffl as other that I’m good to go because I bought it like you with a rifle stock and I didn’t want it.

Better call Colt then most of AUs are take offs from rifles and can not legally become a pistol where is the box? Don’t count on anyone’s word call Colt. If it’s good as pistol the value just went way up. If it left Colt as a rifle (as most all do) it can never legally be a pistol. Does not matter - if the rifle upper was separated by anyone before your purchase a Dealer, Disrubutor, Individual ect. it can never be a pistol. AU did have the Commando marked spares (very very few) you never know for sure unless you call Colt.
