I’m selling my pre 1960 JM stamped Marlin 336 30-30 with pistol grip stock. It’s the more desirable no safety model. Rifling is still strong hasn’t been shot much.the gun has a smooth and tune done to it. Comes with a cartridge sleeve a custom sling and 2 boxes of ammo. This is probably one of the smoothest lever action rifles you’ll ever mess with. I’m asking 800obo. I might be open to partial trades for a compact (19) or sub compact (26) Glock complete upper in 9mm, 40sw, or 357sig. Also looking for bulk 9mm, .223, and 5.56. PM me with offers. I’m located in North Las Vegas NV.

What's the story with scope mounts? Never had any? Drilled and tapped?
Can you provide any more detail on the smooth n tune (date, gunsmith)?
You don't have to give the full serial, but when pre-60 does it date to?

Thanks in advance--

Did this go for the straight $800? Trying to determine market trends because I’m saving towards one...

Me too. I've been leaving prices after item has sold so there is at least some kind of history of price. Even if it is pandemic pricing. $800 seems like a lot for Vegas, we just don't see a lot of fine Marlins this old. In a area that has more of a hunting friendly area old 30-30s would be dime a dozen. Hope you got your asking price!

I'd guess it went for full price. When Freedom Arms/Remington took over Marlin in late '07, build QC went south. The pre-cross bolt safety is another plus. I personally prefer straight stock (saddle guns), but this one looked to be a fine example.
