Still looking...

Looking for used trap gun. New to sport. Prefer O/U but open to semi as well. 12 gauge. 30” preferable. I know browning makes nice guns but open to whatever. I have cash, won’t waste your time. Please let me know what you have. Thank you.

Several folks have stuff posted on the board at the range CCSP. If you’re by there check for them.

Sportsman’s warehouse has some fair stuff. Retail prices. Bass pro. Not sure about other places around town and traditional shotguns.

Great idea. Didn’t think of that. I’ll try that. Was at bass earlier. Nice guns there but trying to get in for a decent price. That way if I don’t shoot too much I won’t be too concerned. And if I really get into it then I can get something nicer. Any ideas on shops that carry a good amount of used weapons in general? Thanks again

Nothing on the board at cut rates. Some nice stuff but priced accordingly.

Finding good stuff but inexpensive is a bit difficult. Right place/time thing.

Suggestion........check out the rules of your local trap range before you buy. Some have ammo capacity restrictions, ie: 1 loaded round for trap at each station, 2 loaded rounds for skeet at each station.

First several times I used my semi-auto (which was a PITA) then bought an O/U......check at the range for used shotguns or rent various of the club guns to get a feel for what you like and what feels good

Free bump and some advice worth what you paid for it:

In singles, dont knock a good pump that fits you well. A "trap" version of the Rem 870 can be had for less than $500, and it will smoke clays all day if you do your part. You are limited in what games you can shoot, but if you know that trap is your game, who cares? Jack of all trades guns tend to be sub-optimal in all or most.

Next weekend is the DU shoot at ccsc. Stop over and look around. The boards will have stuff listed. Sometimes they also have shooter demos.’Browning was there a few years ago when I went. Shot a few different things.

You can also see what folks are shooting.

Iirc, it’s mostly sporting clays and 5 stand. (Not so much trap / skeet)
