Well, not so much a change, as a request from me.
Going forward, if you all will PLEASE, instead of responding to an ad with a "I'll take it", instead use the phrase
"I'll take it pending inspection".
Why?
There have been some cases lately where someone put the simpler version of "I'll take it", and then via a PM or text or email asked for more pictures before the meet up and actual sale, and after getting those additional pictures, backed out of the sale, without physically meeting and this resulted in folks exchanging nastygrams and negative feedbacks and "no more Christmas fruitcake for you bubba" sentiments, even when a set date or time or location had not yet been established, or when all those had been established but had not yet occurred.
It seems some folks think that the phrase "I'll take it" constitutes a binding contract, and that the buyer should have to go through with the sale even if upon meeting, or getting more photos, the item is NOT as was described in the ad, or even if it was. Folks, you can change your mind, things can happen that suddenly see the funds needed elsewhere, lots of reasons, no point in going to war over someone backing out of a sale, and if they do so BEFORE actually meeting up, no need for negative feedback.
You can just relist the item, someone else will want it eventually, life's too short to getchernickers in a twist over chit like this!
That negative feedback should be left when someone shows up and then suddenly offers you less than your asking price when you have agreed on a price, even though the item IS as described, or stands you up at the appointed date, time and location for the meet with no real valid explanation, ghosts you for days after doing so (hey, he might have been in a car wreck) , in other words, the person getting the negative feedback deserves it for ungentlemanly or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Not for things like "He was rude" or "Uses vulgar or profane language" "Looked unkempt and like he hadn't slept or bathed for a week".........yes, those are all negative feedbacks left here in the last 60 days!
Using the phrase "I'll take it pending inspection" should slow down or hopefully halt this issue.
Thanks for listening, gotta get back to vaporizing lower forms of life who annoy me.............zzzzzzzap! ZZZZZZZZAPP!
