I'm looking for a carry piece caliber does not matter to me. No micro or sub compacts.

Budget would be useful. $100 - 2000 is a very possible range.

That narrows it down. Anything is a carry piece with the right kind of saw…..

You may want to check out the S&W M&P 2.0 compact

They come in a 3’6” and 4” barrel and you can find brand new for about $500.

They are also coming out with the optic ready slide and flat faced trigger for both sizes-

Other than that, you can also check out the Ruger Security 9, the Taurus G3 or G3c, and H&K P30.

The Springfield XDM elite has a grip safety if that is an option for you.

Those have decent grip sizes that are much thicker than the subcompact/micro grips
