Locker Lockers Lockers?

Anyone here well-versed in all types of lockers, lunchbox, mechanical, Air, electric?
I’m trying to figure out what the best route would be for a Jeep TJ. I’d like to be able to wheel it pretty hard! I had an old CJ7 which had ARB selectable air lockers front and rear which were awesome. However, the Jeep came with them, but to buy that set up is quite expensive these days so I was hoping for a cheaper route.

If you want to "wheel is pretty hard" dont look for a less expensive option.

If its going to be mostly used offroad, buy Detroit lockers front and rear and dont worry about turning them on and off, air lines, compressor etc.

If it is going to be street driven, a selectable is the better option Eaton E-locker, ARB or OX locker.

Buy 1 cry once.... dont put a lunchbox locker in a jeep you're going to wheel hard.

Like2Shoot nailed it. I’ve had an OX locker, Detroit lockers, lunchbox “limited slip” locker, air locker and Grizzly locker.
Detroit / Grizzly are strong and simple and get the job done but on road manners are not the best. The selectable lockers are doable but have their own issues; an air leak can quickly end your day and leave you stranded if you don’t have a way to repair, OX lockers you can grab a pair of pliers and activate if the cable breaks, etc. I’ve no experience with Eaton (elockers). Current rig has a grizzly in the rear and stock air locker up front.

I ran a Lincoln Locker for several years on lifted Dodge 1/2-ton back when I was young and poor. It worked a lot better than you might think. IYKYK.

You have any Wrangler length Posilok cables? The one in my YJ is about 2 feet too long.

Selectable and especially E lockers are where it’s at imo, the last thing I want is lockers or limited slip doing their own stuff on frozen mountain roads.
