It's illegal in NV to buy ammunition if you are a felon, under indictment, under 18, or an illegal alien.

It's federal law.

Incorrect on long gun ammo, correct on handgun ammo

Minimum Age for Gun Sales and Transfers*

  • Handguns: Under federal law, unlicensed persons may not sell, deliver or otherwise transfer a handgun or handgun ammunition to any person the transferor knows or has reasonable cause to believe is under the age of 18, except under certain exceptions.**
  • Long Guns: There are no federal laws preventing unlicensed persons from selling, delivering or otherwise transferring a long gun or long gun ammunition to a person of any age.

How about a long pistol? These rounds can be used in an AR pistol right? Think of the children.

Not selling long gun ammo so in the context of the posting I would have no reason to mention other types of ammunition.

you were selling 5.56 weren't you? That is long gun ammo. So long gun ammo has NO restrictions on age for private transfers.

I do read where the ATF says 5.56 is now considered a handgun caliber. It's not worth the effort to research it further, and probably not worth the risk. I'm just going to go do mag dumps at the range with it. Seems more fun and interesting.
