Has anyone tried using these primers for 9mm pistol loads?
Rifle primers have thicker/harder cups than pistol primers. Rifle primers "can" work in many hammer-fired pistols, but "may" not work in striker-fired pistols....... in addition, those #41 were designed for 5.56 to prevent possible slam fire (so I've heard). So if using them in 9mm, it might work if your gun has a strong enough firing mechanism, otherwise you'll have light-strikes.
Conversely, pistol primers are thinner/softer than rifle primers. So if one were to use pistol primers in rifle cartridges, depending on how strong the firing pin strike is, it could possibly puncture the primer and allow hot gases & flames to flow back and flame cut the breech face.
