Closer to $350 after buying a lower. Magazine and optics add to it as well.
But OP should be able to go to nearly any shop and find a brand new, assembled AR in his price range.

Aim Surplus has SKS' right now for $299 if my short term memory serves correct. Even with the $20-30 transfer fee a local FFL would charge and NV sales tax it'd be a good deal.
