Edward Paton & Son shotgun. Hammer gun with bar action rebounding locks (excellent scroll and grotesque engraving), thumb-lever (this appears to be a thumb-lever variant of Lang's 8 March 1870 patent no. 687 treble-bolted snapping screw action) non-ejector, twist barrels, straight hand stock with vacant escutcheon and horn finger-piece behind triger-guard, cross-bolted fore-end. Number 1 of a pair.
