I want around 6 laying hens. Would really like an americuana variety that lays green or blue eggs. But any will do. If you have any or even know where to get them please lmk.
I believe you are looking for the "Easter Egger" hens (they are not a true breed). Tractor Supply had a decent sized flock for sale about a month ago and I picked up 4 of them. I already have 5 ISA Brown hens right now (2 years old) but the Easter Eggers will be a nice addition. Give Tractor Supply or Cal Ranch a call and find out when they receive shipments of hens.
I will tell you this right now, you need to be quick. Just like most things these days, they sell out quickly. Easter Eggers, ISA Browns, Rhode Islands, Buff Orpingtons and Barred Rock hens are all mild mannered and great egg layers.
