Yesterday I got the chance of a lifetime, total bucket list. 427 dual carbed big block Ford power. I’ve never felt that kind of power……EVAR !!!!!!

I would totally bug out in this bad boy, faster than a bullet !

If you ever get the chance, it’s better than sex or anything I can think of !

I have driven both carb. 427ci and a 289ci converted with fuel injection and electronic ignition. While the 427 had gobs of power. The 289 was better balanced and handled a whole lot better. And was no slouch when it came to power.
The 427 reminded me of the Dodge viper v10 great power and torque for straight line, sucks in corners.
Don't get me started on the calf burners.
One of the nicest Cobra's I've seen

And the the ugliest but most expensive original aluminum bodied Carroll Shelby signed cobra.

I know there are faster better balanced cars, but that calf burning open exhaust, open cab, low to the ground visceral big block power is a one of a kind experience !!! I haven’t felt so alive in awhile !!!

I used to think of Cobra's as kind of exotic until I started to build them at LVMS, I did not work at Shelby I worked for one of there dealers of whom I will not utter their name. They are nothing but a drafty English based muscle car, brute power, death machines, I did the aluminum interiors and built headers for them and I never got to drive one because they are designed for midgets, I am 6'5" and 350lbs but it was fun working on them but the company I was working for were a real piece of $&!+.

GlenBaker, suhweeet.

Maybe I was a little excited but when you spend every freaking day in pain and it commands your day, just the chance to forget about it …just for a minute, for a few was so nice. Not until I stepped out of that thing was I reminded of my condition. And I’ll take it that anyday ;).

It's all about power to weight.
BTW: Not an original Cobra in any of those pictures. I don't consider kits and continuation cars to be "real" ones. CSX2000 series was the 260 & 289 engine ones. CSX3000 were the 427 that should have been called 428 since that is the engine that went into most of them.
Yes they are fun. My first 427 ride was at Willow Springs - when I got out I asked myself how stupid was that? 160 mph and no roll bar on my side.
