Actually no, the LS4 is the FWD variant of the LS engine, not found in trucks or RWD cars.

One of the more popular 5.3Ls for retro swaps is the L33 all aluminum (as opposed to the LM7 cast iron block 5.3L.

Unfortunately the LS4 is worthless except in the cars they came in (which are worthless because they're FWD).

Just my $0.02.

1998 Chevy Camaro LS1 Yank stall, 150 shot. Started my love affair with the LS.

Got a Silverado in 2001? when We first moved to Vegas. It had an LS, block chopped & iron from the factory, aluminum heads. It was a 5.3l LS based engine. And I love the power band.





That was 6 years ago & she pulls harder than ever now, with a worthless LS4 out of GP SS GM pace car put into a Toyota Spyder.
