I've worn it for EDC and for competition. As an EDC belt it was fine with jeans and my more rugged shorts. With my lighter shorts the loops were not strong enough. So, I'd say if you wear pants/shorts with flimsy loops this belt will not work well for EDC. Hope this answers your question. As for competition/OWB it worked well.
