Folks, we are spotlighting the 5.11 / VTAC TACTEC Chest Rig in our gear locker.
The TACTEC Chest rig is an H / X Harness capable, load carrying rig capable of carrying up to 12 AR Magazines, and additional equipment via the three sections of MOLLE on the front bib. The pouches on the side have compression straps that will loosen to allow other items, i.e. IFAK, bino’s, or hydration bottles to fit. The pouches feature the use of either the “Hot Pull” flaps, however a bungee retaining system is included for each pouch as well to allow end user modularity. Inside each mag pouch are two rows of MOLLE webbing covered in loop material to allow the end user to attach a holster platform, or any other MOLLE pouch desired. There is also a quick stow map pouch on the side worn to the users body. The shoulder straps have MOLLE webbing to attach radio pouches or smaller IFAK on the front of the straps. The left strap also has loop material to attach morale patches or identifiers. The shoulder straps are constructed with a very breathable padding and mesh combination for comfort. At the back, the shoulder stap connecter has a larger section of loop material for attaching identifiers or morale patches, and can be removed if the end user desires. The shoulder straps are attached with quick clips, as well as the waist strap, and are fully adjustable.
All in all, the TACTEC Chest Rig is a very nice, lightweight (500D material) load carrying platform for those that want a load carrying platform with options.
