I’m holding out for an AWD for this one. 0-60 @ 2.3 seconds spells traction issues. 9.6 seconds @150 mph in the 1/4 mile means a parachute at the track. Again, with AWD that 1/4 mile should drop into the low 9’s IMO.

GM has not released a reliable price for the 2025 but in reality the dealers are going to be savage.

Exciting times indeed.

0-60 in 2.3? Holy sheet that’s sick. If you can get me one for Christmas id appreciate it.

Do you think the engineers have recognized the need for a chute in the 1/4 mile and made it so one can be added without a lot of issues? My guess, probably not.

Will it beat a Tesla Plaid dual-motor?

I agree, probably not. My lawyer has a Plaid that does low 9’s in the 1/4 mile @152 and there’s no provisions for a chute. 0-60 in 2 seconds flat.

Not in the 0-60 or 1/4 mile. Plaid top speed is 200 mph, ZR1 is 233 mph. On a track, I have to believe the Vette will whoop it In it’s current configuration. My lawyer‘s Plaid doesn’t handle or brake well at all.

As mentioned, AWD should be a game changer for the Corvette.

Anyone here who’s driven a 10 second car knows what that feels like. Both hands on the wheel.

That Lambo sounds badass but those pesky Plaid’s are a PITA.

I think an AWD ZR1 will take it.

I've been in a Plaid. It takes your breath away. The G forces experienced during acceleration is amazing. I imagine it's the closest you'll get to being catapulted off an aircraft carrier.

I had a C5 Corvette for about 10 years when I was young. By the time I sold it, it was making 700+ HP from the original 345Hp of the LS1. I went through 3 engines, 6 clutches, 3 transmissions, and 4 rear ends. It was a fantastic journey and worked on the car constantly with my friends.

Now that I am older, I drive the Plaid. It's quieter, I don't need to worry about smog. Best of all, I have solar so I get free charge a home. Even if I don't have solar, my electric bill only went up by $20 a month that's compared to $250+ a month for gas. Also, if you really want to get faster, better tires and lightened interior will net the Plaid into 8.8x range in quarter mile.

Another cool thing, 2021 used Plaid are around $50k, back in 2021 their MSRP was $141k.

Tesla has been developing a two-seat coupe. Reports indicate that it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds and has a projected top speed of 250 mph. I recall a video where Jay Leno took a ride in a prototype of this vehicle.
Leno, who owns many supercars, was genuinely Scared (poop)z-less by the acceleration of the Tesla coupe prototype.

NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Cars, accelerate from 0 to 100 mph in less than 30 feet and in .08 of a second.
If you've never experienced an NHRA event, you're missing out on an experience of a lifetime.
The NHRA 4 wide will be at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on April 11 - 13, 2025. IMHO Friday night is the Best.

It will be interesting. Tesla's have no wind-up! It's Instant Power! The power is rated at 1020HP.

The TESLA Semi Tractor Tesla goes 0 to 60mph in 20 seconds, while loaded with 80,000 lbs of cargo.
The Tesla Semi's battery weight is estimated to be 10,000 lbs.
Tesla showed a video of the Semi climbing Donner Pass at 65mph going uphill pulling an 80,000 lbs. trailer.
