I also use Valvoline full synthetic "Restore & Protect" in all my vehicles. It definitely keeps the sludge from building up and keeps low-friction oil rings from sticking (reduces oil consumption)

I have a 2005 Tundra with 199000 miles. Always changed the oil every 3000 miles with Mobile 1. I am now on my first oil change with Valvoline R/P. After watching manny videos from Lake Speed Jr. ( The motor oil geek) I decided to give it a try . I'm a little over 1000 in. Going to change the filter at 1500 miles and cut it open. I have noticed that the truck does run a little smoother and the idle rpm's and temp has gone down. I have the cut opened filter from the last oil change before using Valvoline. More will be revealed.

Well my Tundra just turned 200 thousand miles . And going to change just the filter then open it up to see how it looks

Well just changed the filter after 2658 miles. While using Vavoline restore and protect. Either it's not working yet or my engine wasn't as dirty as I thought. Guess changing the oil every 3000 miles (Mobil 1) doesn't let the gunk build up. Maybe the dip stick was a sign it has always been clean no tarnish whatsoever. Think I'm going to run the Vavoline 1 more cycle. Then cut open the filter and see if it's the same

122000 it’s a 2016 also on my Toyota mini van it has 140000 I cut it open as well and nothing in it. Also the Toyota oil filters are 2 for 10 at the dealer. I also use Mobil 1

Funny you said that about the dealer sale. I went yesterday and picked up 2. Most important remember to drain and fill transmission fluid every 30-40 thousand miles. Don't forget the differential fluid. Also flush out the coolant.

I know it's a bit over kill but I have changed my spark plugs every year. Guess I'm a little OCD.
