The watch appreciator thread here got me thinking... maybe there's someone here that this timepiece would appeal to. I just don't wear it like I used to, and usually my Speedmaster holds its own any dressy events I attend.

Pleasant patina on the bezel, with the red having faded a little more than the blue. Smooth but not too loose bezel rotation. Crystal is OEM and appropriate for the Reference, professionally installed this summer.

Hands track as they should and date advances precisely at 12:00. Date number displays well-aligned in the cyclops window. Professionally serviced by LA Watchworks in June 2024, which carries a transferrable two-year warranty tied to the serial number. Happy to include my service records.

Deficiencies are a (well-done) re-lumed dial with more glow than what's common for its age, and the Rolex USA C&I bracelet is probably not original to the watch. Bracelet has one incorrect rivet repair next to endpiece. One picture below displays a leather NATO strap -- not included - it's on another piece right now.

Includes Rolex warranty booklet stamped with matching 2.3M serial and has written retail date of 1970. GMT marketing brochure also included.

The vintage market is tricky to price, but I've put in some transaction history research including unsold asking prices and real sold prices across multiple venues. Trying to be a fair deal considering all of those factors. If you're good-faith interested and see the right price differently, I'm happy to compare notes.

$12,000

Don’t make me start wearing this again!

Ok I get it: no one wants to bite if it doesn’t come with the leather NATO strap. That can be included in the lot for no extra price. 😎

What time is it?
Time to get yourself a watch!

Have a Pepsi. You know you want one.

I'm making a price reduction after an insightful and good-faith conversation with another enthusiast on market conditions and the specifics of this timepiece.

$12k.

I'll probably send it to Heritage at the end of this month if its next owner isn't here in NV.

Look, I know Omega has the timing contract for the Olympics, but hear me out…

I guess I could’ve said earlier that I’m open to combinations of cash, bullion, and firearms. 😎

Interested in a lever, a carry revolver, a Glock in 9mm, and most Berettas.

But heavier on cash and bullion.

We’re in the homestretch of the watch’s listing here. Don’t make me stress about shipping it off!

Finder’s fee added: 3% of transaction’s cash amount payable to the referring party.

Probably the last bump before shipping it to auction.

Thanks for looking!

I was about to pull this down and then I got a DM.

I tried to be fair in the pricing. It legitimately is a timepiece that is going to go for firearm plus a bit of cash. It’s not a run-of-the-mill Rolex. I grant open license for any other vintage Swiss appreciators to weigh in here ;)

I have to have it in Dallas by Sept 10 unless someone has a trade + cash offer that comes out around $12k fair-market.

Speak today or forever hold your peace / piece.
