19 dollar high pass filter

That looks extremely impressive yet I have no idea what I'm looking at.....
 
In a nutshell, There are some powerful AM stations that would come through no matter what band or mode I was using. So for instance, I would be trying to contact Australia, but would hear a local football broadcast on AM radio.

This filter basically removes the AM broadcast from the feed line and only allows the HF band that I am trying to use.
 
Ahh, understood. My only experience with filters was with my car stereo. I installed a filter to get rid of "alternator whine".
