We are doing a trail to the Pioneer Saloon tomorrow the 8th. We meet at the Chevron on 160 (Blue Diamond) and 159 (Red Rock Canyon Rd.) At 9am. 4x is prefered but a 2x with the right tires and power can do it. It is all easy trail to the Saloon and then we usually get silly and drive up the hill next to the saloon.

Will see you guys there.

from a little meetup we had out in Bodie CA 2 weeks ago.

Big Virginia Lake, Mono county, CA. About 10,000' elevation.

common sight when one or more FSJ's get together....this was me mcguyvering a broken alternator bracket using a butter knife, zip ties, and hose clamps.

seems legit. got me home, 120 miles, without issue.

There were probably 50-100 offroad vehicles, many of them custom rock crawlers out in the Logandale Trails last weekend. This weekend they have the OHV Roundup out there which should be an even bigger event.

That was the Hump-N-Bump last weekend.

looks like someone had already repaired it with JB weld before the mcguyver fix.

i really need to get on the frontier forum more... it randomly sends mne notices.

Yup. That was me, the night before. The JB broke within 40 miles. The butter knife fix lasted just fine until I got home. Prolly should have just left it as such :-)

Hmmm! A mod on a major Jeep forum, posting a 'Mickey Mouse fixit'! :001_rolleyes:

Yep, seems about right! :cheers2:

Not just any jeep forum, but specifically a mod of the FSJ section! I'd say that repair is just about perfect! Haha.

Got it home Sunday, stripped the bracket off that night, had a buddy melt it back together with a little reinforcement, Painted it and put it back in the jeep by Thursday. If it lasts another 40 years before breaking, I'll consider it a success!

Not mine, but saw this on the Jeep forum! :lkick:

:lkick: that's a good one. I bet it's true too.

So where's the go to place in town for alignment that isn't scared of modified suspension?

Yep, arrow alignment. Call them first, they are usually by appointment.

Cool, Ive seen them suggested elsewhere. They're super close now if Dans Driveline can open a SW location the world will be a better place.

Thanks

I like Dans Driveline, SW location would be great.
