Looking for something with a 6rd capacity, +P rated. I'd like something that includes some ammo and a holster as well.

Still looking, very interested in a Taurus 856 with a bobbed hammer.

Why 6 rounds? If it's a carry gun and you don't get it done with 5 a 6th isn't going to help. Find yourself a S&W J frame variant. Stick with the 38+P - a snub 357 is just unpleasant to shoot and you don't get much additional punch with only a 2" barrel. I have an early 60 and a 642. The 642 is a great hammerless pocket gun. The downside is it's DA only and has a heavy trigger pull. I can shoot my 60 very well at distances using SA. In DA I wouldn't trust hitting anything past 25-30 feet.
The 638 has a shielded hammer which allows SA or DA - this would be my choice if I didn't already have the 642.
A stainless or alloy & stainless is a little more $ but much better than blue steel for carrying.

Can confirm 642-442 are plenty unpleasant to shoot 38+p let alone a 357 mag versions. Great guns to carry tho, so easy to stash in a pocket with the right holster. Can even shoot through pockets of need be.

This is exactly what I want one for, pocket carry and to shoot though a pocket, what would you recommend as far as holsters for pocket carry?

6rds only because I like even numbers and I imagine finding a 4rd snub nose would be hard :),

I appreciate all of your insight. All jokes aside 6rds of .38spl seems adequate to me, I don't mind a 5 shot revolver, but if I can get +1 in basically the same form factor i'd like to.
.357 is something I don't intend to shoot out of a 2" for anything more than fun at the range, I like the versatility it provides in a snubnose, but it's not practical imo, to me it only guarantees that whatever I purchase is +P rated.

I like the profile pic btw, moved to Nevada last Year from Socal.

It depends holster wise. Back in Alaska I had a parka with a dedicated pocket for my revolver and I could safely carry a double action only gun with no holster. De’Santis pocket holsters are good but I love my boraii kydex pocket holster. It’s only big enough to cover the trigger guard and has a “wing” that catches your pocket as you draw so the holster stays in your pocket and the gun comes out.
