The adapters have been available for years, but I've not seen one in person. Nice to see it as a factory option.

While it seems obvious that you shouldn't fire it while folded, my question is what prevents you from doing so, and what happens if you do?

Guessing on this one, nothing prevents you from firing. That tab might hold the bolt in place so it doesn't shoot out at your forehead.
