I have a unique bench rest rifle for sale. It is really a beautiful piece with a mirror black McMillan stock. I would like to get $1,000 for the rifle without the Leupold gold ring scope pictured and $1,400 with the scope. Although I am not keeping the rifle it is really a great piece. Rifle is located in Reno NV. I am NOT open to trades. Case pictured below included.

Caliber 6mm PPC
Fluted Barrel
Remington Action
Sleeved XP200
Built by Harvey Miller of Miller Custom Rifles
Jewl Trigger
Mc Millan stock

How many rounds been fired through THAT barrel? What make is it and how long and what profile? Not a big 6 PPC fan, but I do like 6mm BRX, so could maybe have it re-chambered and re purpose the rifle for one of the other games I play--not a bench rest guy----I am also kind of wondering if the scope is what reticle I think it is----Target dot--maybe 1/4 MOA? I see that the action was sleeved...what action footprint was it sleeved to? I also live in Reno and would kinda like to see the rig in person if possible.

I don't know the exact round count although I don't believe it to be very high at all. belonged to my uncle. not sure on the reticle either. Sounds like a lot of work to rebarrel especially if you don't shoot benchrest. If you have a high interest in buying it send me a message and we can work something out, but you said seeing it. Which please take no offense but I am a busy person and need to sell the rifle. Thanks

Do keep in mind that anyone interested in "seeing" such a precision rifle is a serious buyer if it is what they are looking for, and with that kind of hardware, you often just can't do it with pictures alone. There are gun shops that will take it on consignment if time is more valuable than meeting prospective buyers. Expect 10-25% commission to the dealer, depending on the arrangement. But completely hassle-free on your end.

OK..I was thinking that it could be re-purposed, but if it is a "glued-in" rig, it would likely be way too much trouble to screw with. Not to mention that with your busy schedule and mine, we'd likely never be able to get together. Thanks, anyway...hope you find a buyer!

Hard to re-purpose with a PPC bolt face.
Depends, but typically a bolt change or machining would be required...but maybe not as in the case of a change to a Grendel or similar and
whether or not the bolt can handle both a PPC case and a BR case will depend on the specific action, how old it is, and what type of extractor it uses.

... In any case a bolt change would likely require re-headspacing, but that would likely be needed for a caliber change anyway.. But depending upon the tenacity of the "glue job" it could well be a non-player for any re-purposing.

I get that and meant no disrespect to the poster, but in the context of the project he was talking about I just don't see how it could really be valuable for him. The ideal buyer for this is someone that wants to get into benchrest or knows about these rifles. I don't think chopping it up would really benefit a buyer.
