Second, I have a NIB Vortex Viper PST gen 1, 2.5-10 x 44mm scope. Illuminated mil reticle, zero stop, all the bells and whistles. Fantastic optic, but I have two.

I feel like 2nd focal plane is completely serviceable with 10x max magnification. With a power range of 2x to 10x you will always be at full power when doing any kind of shooting that requires ranging and the reticle details are fine and precise. At 2x, the reticle lines are not so thin you can't use them either.
