Its a 10k gold chain made in Italy (see picture). My father bought it at least twenty years ago. I dont know what it really should cost but i know what i would be willing to take for it. Gold is going crazy right now though so its got to be worth a few hundred bucks in just melt value. I dont know how troy oz. work but its 23 grams on a scale.

I recall he bought it before i was a teenager but i dont know exactly when. Thats been over twenty years ago, but i went with the most conservative number i could.
I'm not saying it's hundreds of years old or anything, but its also not brand new off a jewelers shelf, and it was made in Italy before the major influx of migrant labor.

I wasn't asking for advice on how to sell my chain. I was asking for offers.

I have not had it tested but if anybody knows somewhere that will i am not afraid to have it checked.

Part of the value here is numismatic guys. Im not selling this as raw gold. Its a chain.
We can of coarse have it checked before the buyer pays, but that seemed like common practice to me. The melt value is important but I'm not bringing it to a cash for gold guy for a reason. If youre expecting to get this at exactly the spot price of gold you should look elsewhere.

Any Jewelry store or jewelry repair. takes a few seconds and they mostly do not charge for doing that.
