Went up to Ruby Valley last week. It was strangely warm and tough to find deer in my spot.
After much binocular-ing and staking out, spotted a small buck and with many tags to fill, I collected some venison.
We ended up with four bucks, all about the same horns RE frame, with varying number of points...Definitely not a trophy hunt, but better than tag soup. Even the one doe we needed required unusual effort..took a while.
Awesome!! 140E47C4-ED12-4FCA-88D8-DECAF84823D7.jpeg E27B74F5-B84B-42CB-91AE-8524978F3821.jpeg 7BDFB07F-E5AC-4727-A264-0755F5958B79.jpeg 711DF1EE-248D-4044-942B-37178B028B5A.jpeg 9C1E48D0-33A9-4E7D-847B-1B41C1D9CCAA.jpeg 16FEF9C3-9B54-4D31-93F0-C6295A0D2941.jpeg

22 = 221, 222, and 223.

For example, when I get my tag for Area 22, I can hunt any of those three subareas, and must specify in which one I harvested the animal.

Just got back from scouting for next year. saw buttloads of Antelope, a good amount of deer, and a pretty good size herd of elk :) Wyoming has awesome places to hunt and if you don't need antlers the non-resident hunting licenses are quite reasonable. Thinking of putting in for an Elk tag for next year, I'll be going back up in the spring to see if this particular Elk herd has stayed in the same area. Thankfully we have family in the areas with good populations of Elk in central Wyoming. Also looked at a nice property that straddles the Wyoming/South Dakota border in the Black Hills that would allow for resident land-owner tags in both states. Definitely thinking of retiring up that way. IMG_9520.JPG IMG_9587.JPG IMG_9728.JPG IMG_9710.JPG

Haven’t had a chance, except for back in July. Too much going at work and that week off for the 10 hunt didn’t help! I think we’re going to focus on the south end of 22, but that could change if we’re not seeing much.

..as of last week, the weather was warm and very little snow in your area. There has been a cooling trend since, but don't know about snow...
I would either concentrate on water where there are very few sources, or very high....unless snow and real cold occurs...Molly's Nipples..lol..Would make a bee-line to here, myself. B0ADA59F-6516-4216-8E5F-F9C59A03A152.jpeg

This is the road I told you about..Sawmill Canyon..will be ugly if snow..probably the most deery spot in 22...goes over to The area in first pic..This road is not for trailers unless very small... switchbacks and very steep/beautiful on the West side 0B05BD96-EE36-4B8E-8910-B56AE327FD5D.jpeg

...the area just N/S and West of Bullwhack Summit is def the most prime in 22, IMO. Driving West on Sawmill from there = deer...Good luck, Man.
What happened in 10?
