Have you seen any posted no-firearms around town that surprised you? Cashman surprised me. But someone said it's actually school (I think??)
Now that I'm picking up my CCW, I'm obsessing over a zillion things I need in order to get ready. I'd prefer to not be carrying and caught off guard. I know about metal detectors, gov, schools, etc. So what I'm asking about is places that aren't legally off limits, but where the owner has posted signage. |

I wouldn't worry about private facilities where the law is not binding. Such buildings don't deserve to be patronized but it also isn't worth any extra effort to search them out. If they put a sign in point 6 font in the lower right corner of the doorway where no one will ever see it that is their fault. The worst that can happen is that they would ask you to leave. (Where you would then be obligated under trespass law to comply.)
If it were me, I'd mainly be concerned about places like you mention which you might think are okay but are actually owned by universities and other places prohibited by 202.265. Of course, when there is a "no guns per 202.3673" warning on most local government buildings, it simply means that you need to carry openly within it! |

Cashman really surprised me. But it sounds like that won't be a common experience.
In the few weeks I've been looking, I've not been caught off guard anywhere else. Though I believe some Strip night clubs are posted? |

are you talking about cashman jr. high on Desert Inn or Cashman Field on Washington?
Some of the strip clubs, like spearmint rhino, wand people before you enter so if you are carrying, they are going to know. |

Cashman Field (during the gun show, no less.)
My chances of going to a strip club are almost non-existent. I meant a club on The Strip! LOL! |

Summerlin Hospital is posted at all doors. I scoffed at them and farted in their general direction. Same thing with Southwest Medical Associates. (my med plan offices) I carry there in spite of signage. Now......be careful not to carry at UMC. That's a school building. So are their satellite locations.

Good example of this is the Atomic Museum. There is nothing at all indicating that it is part of UNLV. I had to ask at the ticket booth.

House of Blues in Mandalay bay wands everyone. That is considered a metal detector and whether or not it is in a private or public building, the purpose is to detect weapons. It's not to guess how much change you have in your pocket. Same with the metal detector if you want to go up the tower at the Stratosphere. Now, since those are not public buildings as described by the NRS, you can take your chances and try to go through them. However, the only thing that will happen is that you'll probably be escorted off the premises and everyone in security will know you carry. They can't arrest you for any firearms violations, but do you really want that kind of attention? I don't. KG

^^^ what he said.
I carry all the time in posted private buildings (casinos, etc.). Just make sure they don't see it, and it won't be a problem. If they see it, they'll kick you out, but they can't arrest you. Don't carry at the airport, schools, police stations, or posted public buildings (public meaning owned by the government).
