I'm a big fan of Baikal shotguns. They're dirt cheap and well built. They sell a bunch of over/under shotguns also in shotgun/rifle combo.

I have three of them.

They're marketed in the US under the brand USSG Inc.

GalleryOfGuns.com usually has them in stock. You make a deposit on there and then a couple days later it shows up at your local gunstore.

No, but it normally takes only 1 business day to ship from Davidson's (galleryofguns). Since all the gun panic began, it's more like 3 days.

The quality is nice, especially for a $300 gun.

And the warranty is lifetime when you buy from Davidson's.

My dad bought a Mossberg silver reserve 12/20 gauge combo without engravings for just over half of the $1,000 list, or almost as much as you can pick up a 12 or 20 gauge version at BPS.
I have no complaints with the Mossy, great value.

Default Like the CZ

We just recently bought my wife her first OU, the CZ. She absolutely loves it (20 Ga). She has put about 500 rounds thru it and is very happy.

My first OU was the Stoeger Condor, big 5 special. Although the fit on it is not very tight, it has had thousands of rounds thru it from probably 10-15 people, and it still shoots no problem.

The Mossberg Silver Reserve, and the Remington Spartan lines are both good values, be aware that if you buy a used one that was made prior to 2006, the early ones had a tendency to break firing pins, the replacement pins solve that problem, and the newer guns do not suffer from that issue.

A bit higher up the price line (around $600 new) are the Tri Stars, my brother bought one a few months back, well built, well fitted and finished.

At around $700 the Mossberg Onyx Reserve is a cut about the Silver reserve, and the Russian made Remington SPR310S.

Closing in on the $1,000 range, the Lanber line of shotguns from Spain, running between $700 and $1,000 are very, very nice. And they come with 7 choke tubes.

Beautiful wood, great workmanship, and fine shooting.

The Lanber 2097 Sporting Lux is listed at $1,100, but can often be found on sale for around $950-$999, and it's a cut above the entry level Lanber 2095 and 2096's.

Here's the Lanber home page, you can click a button on the top of the page to translate it into English.

http://www.lanber.net/

Beyond that, a used Ruger Red Label, a Weatherby Diana, Browning Citori or Cynergy can sometimes be found for under $1,000 in good shape, and if they have been cared for, will last a lifetime for the new owner.

Check the for sale board out at the CCSP Shotgun range for the used guns for sale.

Another nod for the Silver Reserve 12/20 combo. The 12ga barrel set was very stiff and did not lock up as tight as we would have liked out of the box. Sent it back and it came back perfect a few weeks later.

It wont win any beauty contests but its a great gun for the money. I believe I paid around $500 for it NIB on gunbroker.
