Default Software question

I have software for Windows 98 on a cd that shows people how to make money on the internet. Will it work on Windows 7?

I'm not sure how to access this feature on windows 7 (since I don't have it) but on vista after you install the program right click on the icon and go to properties and then click the tab that says compatibility. Then check the box that says run this program in compatibility mode for: and select the version of windows you want. This should make it work if it doesn't work immediately after you install it. I don't think you will have to do this, but you can try it if it doesn't work the first time.

Problem is that I only have Windows XP, and a lady that has Windows 7 is sending me an email asking if the software will work on her computer.

It's a coin toss on older software on a newer OS.

I have some games for 98\XP that will run with-out changing the compatibility settings, some glitchy some just fine. Others won't work at all no matter what you do and are a hopeless endeavor.

if you have a buddy at a geek shop, see if he'll let you install it on a floor demo model to see if it will work, otherwise as I said... it's a coin toss.

Just a quick question.... Don't you think it is a little outdated if it runs on 98? I am unsure the advice would not be current.

BTW windows xp does have a compatability tab under the properties section when you right click a short cut. It can go back to win 95

It should work.

I'd say there's a 90% chance it will work.

Older video games often do not work, but basic applications like that almost always work.
