It's the more cops tax passed by the voters awhile ago. In Clark County sales tax went from 8.15 to 8.25.

Default NEW BILLS IN NV LEGISLATURE: OFFICIAL 2017 BDR list sticky

Yes, Washoe - we got hit with a big ol' hike. It hurt, but that's tax and spend. Increase taxes, spend the money with governmental ineptness and then pander for more. Sounds all too familiar.

Default NEW BILLS IN NV LEGISLATURE: OFFICIAL 2017 BDR list sticky

Final bump, and unsticking this thread. Two gun bills were signed into law from this session: the ability to grant CCW to18-21 year olds if they are active or retired military, and the extended protection order law allowing a judge to decide if a subject of an EPO should have to surrender their guns.

My take is the CCW law is okay, not great. I don't believe in granting special privileges in the law like this does, but we can use it as a stepping stone towards lowering CCW age for all in the future, or even better going to constitutional carry. The EPO law is a bad one since it forces someone to give up property without having actually been convicted of a crime, but there is a process in getting an EPO and those accused will have a chance to fight the claims. I don't like it, but I also don't see a realistic chance of a decent guy getting caught up in it either.
