It almost looks as if the lug itself was machined out of whack, not the barrel. That looks somewhat straight.

With a revolver in hand, I feel like Eliot Ness pursuing Al Capone, or Indiana Jones chasing a Nazi tank on horseback, or Phillip Marlowe going down the mean streets of L.A. With a semiauto in hand, I feel like I'm holding a hair dryer.

My other current Smith doesn't have a lug, so I couldn't compare. It's still ugly; I'm surprised they would design them that way when a little change would make it so much better.

But thanks; that helps a little.

I shot the 625 today with some .45 ACP hardball and some .45 Auto Rim semiwads. It really liked the latter.

Time to pick up some .45 Super brass now.

I prefer the regular .45 with moonclips are the cylinders chamfered on that gun if so it really helps loading the SWC

I mentioned both in the post, so I can see the confusion.

I've got a few Auto Rims now, so shot them and will reload them with +P loads, as they are good for those.

But I've been wanting to do some .45 Super stuff, and this gun is good for 'em. There are guys reaming these out for .45 Winchester Magnum and .460 Rowland, but I don't want that much wear and tear on it. I've got a Ruger for that kind of power.

No, but I might look into that. It depends on if I want to do any IDPA with it. Otherwise, a little extra jiggling doesn't bother me.

I also have a 442. WOW! that is crazy. My wife did not like it either until I put the Pachmeyers on it, now its comfy and does not hurt to shoot. I hve heard about the S&W's blowing the cylinders, thats why I went with Ruger on the .357 I just got.
