Default CZ P-01 Cajun Gun Works

I have been enjoying shooting my CZ 75 Shadow and have found the platform to have many advantages over the Sig Sauer handguns. I ordered a CZ 75 P-01 from Cajun Gun Works and opted for their Pro Package. It includes custom parts such as their billet race hammer and short reset. The internals are polished and springs changed. The package is only $950 and you pay 50% when you order. They were on schedule and it was done in 8 weeks. I am very impressed with it. The obvious comparison is to the Sig P229. The CZ is lighter and thinner. The trigger rests at a half cock notch when decocked after loading. The DA trigger pull is short and consistent at 7lbs 11oz. In the P229 DA pull you feel the spot where the hammer is about to release and you have to pull past it which can cause anticipation. The P-01 trigger is consistent to the release. The P-01 SA pull is 3lbs 9oz and the reset is 3.5mm. I think that this pistol is the best DA/SA carry gun out there for the price. The polymer framed ones are not any lighter. It's a joy to shoot and it seems to really handle hotter ammo well. Probably since it was designed for NATO ammo. So for the price of a stock P229 I have a really sweet custom CZ.

Wow that is a sweet gun!

I have a normal ole stock P-01 that I sure do like. It fits my hand like a glove and is such a nice shooting gun. It that makes me look forward to fall/winter so that I can carry it..

I went the opposite way as you though, the P-01 prompted me to buy more CZs, where your CZs prompted you to try the P-01

You need the 16rd extended magazine (as pictured in the lower P-01). I still have 4 brand new hoping one day I'll pick up a P01 again (yes, I regrettably sold these two awhile ago).

I need to shoot some of these CZ's. I hear so much positive feedback on them.

I have been checking out the CZ Custom table at SHOT Show for a few years and I was always impressed. I just didn't want to do the hassle of a custom shop back then. The CZ platform allows for tuning to a much lighter pull than other systems especially when you get into the models without firing pin blocks like the Shadows. @YoungGun yessir! I am ordering a bunch of mags and would like some sweet custom grips too

@jmano I figured I needed one for carry

@zimzim I think you will like them since you like Sigs. Takes a little adjustment with grip and controls but it's worth it IMO.

I wish Mr. Tuna was around to let me shoot this pistol. One thing he had was great taste in Firearms and was always very helpful. I am looking to build this exact gun. Anyone with experience can you tell me any pros and cons? I had a Legion p229 that I loved. Any info would be appreciative. Thank you

I resisted the CZ crowd for a long time. Big mistake. My first was the SP01 on roster here in CA and I am still impressed with it's accuracy and 100% reliability.
I found the Tactical Sport that I was looking for but cannot DROS it for another 10 days via the 1 in 30 day limit on gun purchases. Then another 10 days after that I can bring it home. The trigger on the TS is lighter than my 226 SAO with just a tad longer reset which I'm sure I can adjust.
Since this thread is a year and some change old I have to ask if you've shot a CZ yet?

I have only heard positive things about CGW. I always thought a little more than I wanted to spend but I'm crunching the numbers and some of them are pretty affordable. Now trying to justify something like the $858 PCR.
