There's no CCW violation. If you're selling, you place the gun in your car, drive to the Police Station and walk in. Of course it must be unloaded. The station I've sold and bought in doesn't have officers breathing down your neck...there were a few behind the counter and the lady behind the counter when one walks in stated I could use a table with chairs in the corner.

You are right about BS ads. Some scams and some seem to be people who just want to email BS.

Trying to sell furniture on CL I had folks email with offers and freaking out when I accepted them on the first round of negotiation. Not a buyer just an emailer. LOL

I saw this one earlier also, lol.

Figured it was obvious enough nobody would be dumb enough to contact the "seller". Didn't even look up that particular firearm, but with the reflex sight, etc, it looks to be work probably closer to $2k.

Lots of backpage transactions involving guns and cash every day in this city.

Never read a news story about anyone getting robbed at gunpoint - and this is the kind of story that would make the liberal media drool - as it fits into their gun control agenda.

I would think that the majority, heck probably MOST guys who buy/sell firearms on backpage are CCW and are carrying when they go to do a transaction - so there are easier targets for criminals (i.e. - lots of sheep for the wolves to go after, that won't be armed)

Not sure I understand. Are you saying that some people actually go inside to do the sale? From your post I almost got the impression that you put it in the little slot like we used to have to do with blue cards.

I've bought/sold in the parking lot of a subdivision (particularly when blue cards were a thing), but never did so inside.

Ive avoided BP and instead pretty much only buy/sell on NevadaShooters, with higher ticket/smaller market items on gunbroker. Never had any sort of negative experience outside of a gun that didnt work, but caveat emptor I suppose.

When I sell through CL or other similar sites (BP seems to be such), I like to meet in a business where I know the employees, and then after meeting the buyer, we go out into the parking lot to do our business, with the employees knowing to expect me back in a few minutes, then, after the sale, I check back in with the staff, so if anything goes sideways, I know that help is nearby.

If they are picking the location, I always ask that it be in a place like what I would pick, and I will often bring a friend - particularly if firearms or large sums of money are involved.

These are tips that were shared with me by others, and I'm passing them along, just in case someone hasn't considered using them.
