Default Shoulder vs Chest draw?

What are some reasons to pick a shoulder draw holster over a chest draw holster for a large frame revolver?

I got a chest draw for my 500. It's compfortable. Got it cheap on amazon. It's a black mamba chest holster.

Spouse and I use the Kenai for our .44 mag bear guns. Very comfortable and don't interfere with packs. Can wear in or outside jackets. Thinking of getting them for a couple of other guns, you can switch the holster to different ones.

I use a simply rugged chesty puller rig with G-20 when hiking in bear country without a long gun. I find it pretty comfortable compared to having it on the belt. I do not bother if I have a long gun, especially if it is not bear country. I feel lopsided with the shoulder rig.

The chest draw is, as noted above, for outdoor use to wear over heavier clothing or when carrying a pack. It is often used for a heavier revolver in these circumstances.

In contrast, the shoulder holster is for your EDC and is suitable for city wear under the right garment: Jacket, vest, sweater. Also, I have seen the shoulder holster used carrying a Glock 26 under a light shirt in summer.
